New initiative to help protect workers from exploitationThe Gangmasters Licensing Authority (GLA) has launched a new initiative where anyone can report their concerns about possible worker exploitation. The details will be taken in confidence via http://www.gla.gov.uk/report or via 0845 602 5020. The Chairman of the GLA Paul Whitehouse said: “The GLA is keen to make it easy for people to let us know about employers who exploit their workers and we hope the new on-line form will be of definite benefit.” “By reporting the rogues you can make a real difference to the lives of exploited workers” Claude Peters, Director of van Stomp Ltd said: "Worker exploitation is bad business all around. "Breaking the minimum wage laws or the health and safety laws will land your business in hot water and exploited workers just won't be contributing to the success of your business like they should." "The care that van Stomp takes of its workers has a very sound business benefit. Our workers are not only hard working but also enthusiastic and engaged. They take pride in working quickly and efficiently and in going the extra mile that makes a difference to your customer." |
